Anchored in Mont Saint-Michel Bay, Avel sand yacht centre teaches kids and grown-ups how to manoeuvre in the wind on wide open spaces..

Avel welcomes everyone from the age of 8 throughout the year and whatever the tide time. You just need to book and you’re on your way… “We want to get you out there enjoying yourself quickly and feeling all the excitement. We work on a one-to-one basis with everyone to enable them to progress at their pace,” commented one of the instructors. Helmets and wetsuits are supplied. A safety briefing is followed by instructions on getting to grips with the machine before finding the action down on the beach. At the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel and the ramparts of Saint-Malo, sessions last between half an hour and two hours. The instructors adapt the sessions to the level of each person. Avel organises full day activities when requested: sand yachting, climbing, karting. These programmes based around an à la carte menu feature little competitions for those, who are interested, and a slap up meal for everyone.
