Come and explore a fully reconstructed rural village: its crafts street, its school, its farm buildings, its Breton games… It’s just like the real thing!
Situated in the heart of the Trégor region in Finistère, the Plouigneau Ecomuseum traces the evolution of rural life in Trégor from 1860 to 1960. An entire rural village has been recreated across 8,000 m²! Here you’ll find the trades of yesteryear: saddler, clog maker, cobbler, baker (with a working bread oven), hairdresser’s, leather goods workshop, old-fashioned bar… Visitors can explore the tools and equipment (which were constantly evolving), as well as the living quarters: the furniture (including a four-poster bed), utensils and objects from the ‘living room’ of the late 19th century. Pop into the 1940s village school (with the smell of ink and the sounds of playground games) before trying your hand at some wooden games. Numerous festivals bring the ecomuseum to life: the cider and calvados festival… Don’t miss them!
