Description
Discover the oldest sweet factory in Brittany (1946); watch how they make 49 different flavours of ‘Niniches’ as well as ‘Salidous’, soft toffees made with salted butter…
‘La Maison d’Armorine’ was founded by Raymond and Yvonne Audebert in 1946. Sixty years later, you can still find them in their shop in Quiberon, facing the ocean, and still as successful as ever. Come and try one of the many specialities: ‘Niniches’, voted the best sweets in France, ‘Salidous’, a creamy salted butter caramel, or ‘Palourdes’, a delicately layered praline…The quality of these local specialities is based on the natural ingredients used (cane sugar, salted Breton butter, ‘sel de Guérande’ salt…), plus of course a few trade secrets (old copper cauldrons etc.) that have been passed down from generation to generation. During the tour you’ll also get a chance to see some of the old machines as well as a film shown on a giant screen.
