La Maison de l'Abeille

In the kingdom of the bees
La Margelle - La Maison De L'Abeille, 8 Rue Du Passage, 56130 La Roche-Bernard

Description

Just a stone’s throw from the port of La Roche-Bernard, the Maison de l’Abeille celebrates honey, the expertise and passion of a family of beekeepers committed to preserving the Breton black bee.
Nature and bees: Rémy Lucas has devoted his life to them for over fifty years. Today, his children, Éline and Léo, have joined the family business and are preparing to take over. Together, they look after the black bee of Brittany, with nearly 800 hives spread around La Roche-Bernard. Their products? Artisanal honeys, pollen, propolis, beeswax candles, royal jelly, chouchenn… All these tempting treats can be found at the Maison de l’Abeille. Specialising in apitherapy, Éline can also advise you on bee-based dietary supplements. On site, a glass-fronted hive in action and a small exhibition offer a better understanding of the essential role of bees and the daily life of beekeepers.
