This is a place that vintage car fans will not want to miss. In a 17th century manor house near Lohéac, they will find an impressive collection of vehicles ranging from early horse-drawn carriages to Formula 1 racing cars.
Any vintage car enthusiast will know what an 1899 De Dion Bouton is. This is just one of the exhibits in one of Europe's finest museums devoted to the history of the motor car. Michel Hommell, the owner of this manor house in the delightful village of Lohéac, between Rennes and Redon, has created an exceptional exhibition site. Here you will find horse-drawn carriages, amphibious vehicles, cyclecars, Cadillacs, Rolls Royces, Peugeot Cabriolets, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Formula 1 cars, motor bikes, bicycles, etc. - in total more than 400 vehicles! In the grounds there are tableaux of village scenes and reconstructions of ancient crafts, with traditionally dressed models and some unusual artefacts. Altogether a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to learn about the history of the automobile and country life. And the not-so-young can try motor racing in the driver's seat of a Porsche or Ferrari!
