The Musée d'art et traditions populaires de Binic is Brittany in days gone by, between land and sea.... In the area dedicated to 5 centuries of Binic's maritime history, documents, fishing and marine instruments bring to life the great epic of the Terre-Neuvas and the Icelanders. Did you know that in the mid-19th century, Binic was one of the main ports of call for the boats that set off to fish for cod on the banks of Newfoundland, off the coast of Canada? And that's not all! You'll also be immersed in the atmosphere of the whaling, privateering and shellfishing adventures. On the land side, the whole of rural Goëlo comes to life before your very eyes. Reconstructed homes from the early 20th century, headdresses, costumes, household utensils, farming tools and craftsmen's tools... bring back to life a daily life, a school, trades... a whole world that has now disappeared.
