Completely redesigned, the first museum in the world devoted to the Pont-Aven school houses a collection of 5,000 works and documents. Carefully lit museum spaces and innovative multimedia devices invite you into the world of Gauguin and his companions.

Pont-Aven, this small picturesque Breton village, owes its fame to the vibrant artistic life it hosted between 1860 and the mid-20th century. Gauguin, Sérusier, Denis... are among the illustrious painters who came here in search of a change of scene and inspiration. To discover their creations, go to the former Hotel Julia, headquarters of these artists. Completely renovated, it is the main building of the museum, extended by a luminous contemporary extension in glass and wood. Immersive projections in the Pont-Aven of the late 19th century, interactive terminals and films put the works spread over two floors into perspective. One is devoted to temporary exhibitions and the other to the permanent collections. On the ground floor, you can extend your visit in the bookshop-boutique, or sit in the interior garden inspired by a work by Filiger.
