1 Rue de Glasgow, 29200 Brest
Based on the coffee-shop model, this is a very popular address in the heart of Brest, with its pleasant decor, fresh cuisine and friendly staff...
It's the only thing you can see, or almost the only thing you can see, this bright yellow storefront on a street corner just a stone's throw from Hôtel-de-Ville. The premises once housed a model shop, then a crêperie, before Mathieu Ingrand turned it into a bright and relaxed café-cantine from 2023. This address is soft from the seat, but not from the plate - quite the contrary. Breakfast starts at 9.30am, with scrambled eggs, bacon and all the rest. At lunchtime, and in the evenings from Thursday to Friday, the owner imagines a bistro cuisine with wide-open chakras: 50% vegan and willing to travel, the menu announces, for example, mackerel à la flamme, tomato pulp and radish, or karaage don, Japanese fried chicken served with rice, leek grilled in miso, coleslaw and an ajitsuké egg. The menu changes every week, with the exception of the unmissable croque-monsieur, where even the brioche bun is homemade! Good sweet pickings too at snack time.
