The Hôtel de France is one of the pillars of the community, standing opposite the church and offering a traditional welcome, either full-board or half-board.
Outside, the building has a pink and yellow façade typical of the 19th century; inside, Alain and his wife Isabelle continue the tradition of family hospitality started by their great-grandfather Antoine in 1906. The Hôtel de France has 15 themed guest rooms, each opening up a different world, such as the honeymoon suite, the Sheherazade room, the Caribbean room etc. Lunch and dinner are served either in the large dining room with dressed stone walls and fine classical features, or in the little flower-decked enclosed courtyard on sunny days. The menu includes traditional cuisine from land and sea. A 15-minute walk brings you to Val-André's main beach, and from there you can take the coast path, called the 'Sentier des Douaniers' or Customs Officers' path, to Dahouët, one of Brittany's enchanting little ports. The Cap d'Erquy headland, Fort-la-Latte and the Isle de Bréhat are some of the other must-see attractions in the region.
