You will be enchanted by this extraordinary hotel huddled against the city ramparts, and by the special attention that the owners afford their guests.

Every corner of this 18th century residence is a delightful mixture of ancient and modern. Bedecked with all sorts of objects, borrowed or found in antiques markets, the Hotel la Demeure is a delightfully idiosyncratic and welcoming place where guests can choose their own room. “Some people prefer the Anne de Bretagne suite with its historic cotton prints, spa-like bathtub and hidden kitchenette, while others choose the more modern rooms which give on to the patio, where almost everything is for sale”, explains Carinne Solo. She enjoys letting guests leaf through a home-made photo album. “I help them decide what they would like to see: The ‘must-see’s’ like the Côte de Granit rose (Pink Granite Coast) or less well-known spots like the Gorges de Gorong or Loc-Envel village. They set off with a pre-prepared information pack complete with the necessary itineraries”.
