Known for its Vauban coastal fortification, the little port of Camaret is also home to the Thalassa hotel. Final safe port of call before the ocean, it has sea views and a heated pool.

At the tip of the bay, the Tour Dorée, or ‘golden tower’ a 17th century fortification and UNESCO world heritage site, dominates the port of Camaret-sur-Mer. At the bottom of the sea wall, and just 50m from the beach, you’ll find the blue-fronted Thalassa hotel. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a family weekend, the Thalassa has 15 fully-equipped apartments and 47 rooms, half of which have covered balconies and some sea views. Relax in the shade of your parasol on one of the sun loungers around the heated seawater swimming pool, or try the steam bath or Jacuzzi. And after, indulge yourself a little more in the hotel’s restaurant with some of the delicious fresh seafood on the menu. If you fancy an excursion you’ll be simply spoilt for choice - several boat companies offer trips from Camaret to Brest or to one of the many wild and beautiful islands on the Iroise sea (Sein, Ouessant and Molène).
