The walled town of Vannes is without doubt one of Brittany’s most attractive sights and a must-visit on any trip to the Gulf of Morbihan. Our tips for visiting the Rhuys Peninsula

• Visit the Pen Castel tide mill in Arzon: an idyllic site in the middle of the water, opposite Ile aux Moines, which is also the starting point for wonderful bike rides or kayak outings.
• Don’t miss Pointe de Penvins, south-east of Sarzeau and close to Suscinio: the long and beautiful beach seems endless. A little chapel watches over it. It’s also an ideal spot for kite surfing or kite flying.
