  • The Lion d’Or is just a stone’s throw from the market-place, yet this is a haven of peace behind high stone walls.

This 17 room 2 storey hotel is housed within typically Breton stone walls, and is a little haven of peace and quiet right in the heart of historic Lamballe. The Lion d’Or is a family hotel, run for the past 6 years by Jean-François and Marie-France Laval. Each room is different, and some of them feature a private terrace. The little garden at the bottom of the interior courtyard is perfect for enjoying the warm summer evenings. Don’t miss the Mathurin Méheut museum in town, located in a stunning 15th century half-timbered house, and there’s also the national stud farm, the 6 hectare home to some fifty national stallions on a 6 hectare site. The coast and beaches of Val-André are just a 15 minute drive away.
