Festival de Malguénac - Arts des villes, arts des champs

The rural town of Malguénac knows all there is to know about jazz, offering you the opportunity to connect with music in its auditorium or under the marquee, erected especially for the occasion. The multi-disciplinary nature and resolutely down-to-earth atmosphere are intentional, with previous editions attracting masters such as Louis Sclavis, Archie Shepp, Bernard Lubat and Christian Vander. The AV-AC festivals (Town art, Country art) were in fact founded to help people enjoy styles of music usually considered difficult and high-brow. At this splendid rural gathering, you'll hear jazz, world music and blues in all their forms, from traditional to experimental and from improvised to acoustic. With a whole range of activities from a jumble sale, tap dancing workshop, street entertainment and games to Irish ballads - this festival explores unexpected terrain and offers a magical and original way to discover jazz. Don't be surprised to hear them jammin' down at the farm.
