At the heart of Finistérien Trégor, this eco -museum, dedicated to traditional Plouigneau smallholdings, traces the development of rural life in Trégor from 1870-1970. Here, a whole village has been recreated, with trades from days gone by: the saddler, shoemaker, baker (with a working bread oven), basket weaver, blacksmith… agricultural equipment (in constant evolution) and buildings (stables, pigsties, cowsheds…)..and the farm houses themselves, with traditional Breton furniture such as the box bed, and living room objects and utensils from the end of the 19th century. Visit the parish school that dates back to 1940 (a reminiscent smell of ink and playground games), and try some Breton games. Don’t miss the numerous festivals that bring the eco-museum to life: the ‘from grain to bread’ festival, the cider and calvados festivals to name but a few.
