Maison des Abers - Ti an Aberioù

First the basics: an aber is an estuary in the Breton language. In Brittany, Wrac'h, Benoît and Ildut are the three finest examples of these ancient river valleys, invaded by the sea when the waters rose at the end of the Ice Age. As for the rest, there's the aptly-named Maison des Abers. Push open the doors of this former farm to learn all you can. You'll find an educational museography, a children's play area and art exhibitions. The shellfish collection and seawater aquarium will give you an idea of the fauna and flora specific to the Abers. In summer, the association offers a wide range of nature and heritage outings, usually during the day, sometimes in the evening, in the form of guided walks, workshops or evenings out.
