Musée de la Résistance en Argoat

It was in the heart of the nearby Coat Mallouen forest that the maquis was set up in June 1944.
Several hundred men strong, it confronted the occupying troops during the attack launched against it on 27 July 1944 and took part in the Liberation of Guingamp and its region. This page of history, read as a lesson in courage, is the common thread running through the permanent exhibition of the Musée de la Résistance en Argoat, built on stilts on the banks of Etang neuf, in Saint-Connan. It also retraces the history of the Second World War and the Resistance in the west of the Côtes d'Armor through five exhibition areas and a projection room. The Occupation, the Resistance, the maquis and their allies, the maquis at Plésidy in Saint-Connan and the Liberation are just some of the themes covered in a fun and lively tour, with plenty of room for audiovisual material.
