You won’t have to break the piggy-bank to stay in the Hotel Passiflore, between Roscoff and Carentan. The 24 comfortable rooms are named after islands, promontories, or lighthouses and each floor is decorated in a different colour - green, red or blue. In the corridors, there are further reminders of local colour with pictures of nearby monuments, shellfish, or flowers. And there’s no-one more Breton than the chef, Gildas Bihan, who creates his menus based on local seasonal produce, from the farm or the sea. If you are there on the right day, you must try his’ kig ha farz’, a traditional stew with buckwheat flour dumplings.
